Château Mouton Rothschild 2008 to be released with label designed by Chinese artist
Château Mouton Rothschild has been associated in the market with rumour to have the domain’s label of its 2008 vintage designed by a Chinese artist.
Well, this is no longer a rumour. On November, 29th the domain confirmed that Xu Lei had been invited by Baroness Rothschild to design the label for Mouton 2008 (En Primeur). Once again the domain showed the importance of the Chinese market.
Château Mouton Rothschild is a well-established brand in the fine wine market and enjoys a great reputation in China. Mouton Rothschild is usually associated with Lafite Rothschild and considered with the latter as the most prestigious wines in the market by Asian buyers.
This announcement is likely to push further up demand and prices of Mouton vintages. This means investors holding Mouton vintages in their portfolios are likely to enjoy additional potential profit returns.
When speculation of a Chinese artist first surfaced earlier this year, the market price for Mouton 2008 increased sharply by 22.2 per cent. The combination of a growing demand for Mouton Rothschild from China and confirmation from Baroness Rothschild that a Chinese painter has designed the label of Mouton 2008 have already delivered average profit returns for investors holding this stock in their portfolio.
These investors are likely to enjoy future potential profit returns especially when Mouton 2008 will be available as ‘physical stock’ in the market; as you may already know, Chinese buyers tend to favour physical stock.
